 As a part of KOICA's Capacity Building Improvement and Advancement for Tomorrow (CIAT) Program, the Korea Institute for Development Strategy (KDS) conducted the 1st years' training course entitled "Development Cooperation Capacity Building (Ghana) – Policy Building Course" in Korea from 31 August to 11 September, 2017.

 

For the 1st invitational training, thirteen high-level officials from Ghanaian government including Department of Finance, Office of Head of Civil Service and Ministry of Defense were invited to Korea. The course was aimed at providing an reference for Ghana's economic development and assisting Ghana in setting the direction of a post-GSGDA II (Ghana Share Growth and Development Agenda).

 

Through the lectures, workshops and study visits, the Ghanaian delegates had a opportunity to discuss about Korea's economic development with Korean experts in various fields. The delegates also had a valuable time to learn the strategies and system of the Korea's economic development from the study visits to Korea Development Institute (KDI), and Korea Institute of Public Finance (KIPF).




On the basis of the lessons, delegates presented their action plans with regard to the Ghana's current affairs including improvement of Public-Private Partnership (PPP), job creation and public administration. Dr. Chun, the President of KDS, and Prof. Park, the Vice President of KDS, provided essential and applicable comments and feedbacks during the Action Plan presentation session.

 

**The 2nd years' Development Cooperation Capacity Building (Ghana) Policy Building Course for Ghanian officials will be conducted in 2018. KDS expects this training program way strengthen the bilateral cooperation between Korea and Ghana.
