 The Korea Institute for Development Strategy (KDS) has successfully conducted the final dissemination seminar of the 2018/19 Knowledge Sharing Program (KSP) for Uganda, the Enhancement of the e-Government System in the Grater Kampala Metropolitan Area (GKMA), Uganda, at Speke Resort Munyonyo, Uganda on 15 May 2019.

 

In addition to the State Minister of the Ministry for Kampala Capital City and Metropolitan Affairs and the Executive Director of the Kampala Capital City Authority, the seminar attracted around 100 participants from various stakeholders like GKMA districts and municipalities, Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, and National Information Technology Agency.




The project which has been implemented from last October to May 2019 recommended 10 improvement tasks for the enhancement of the GKMA e-government system under the following five promotional strategies1) providing integrated services to businesses and citizens, 2) utilizing innovative technology to improve work flow and the quality of people’s lives, 3) establishing and operating a systematic GKMA e-Government action plan, 4) introducing mobile services suitable for the GKMA user environment, and 5) expanding the existing Kampala City's e-Government system and service to the GKMA.

 

KDS will closely follow up with the Kampala Capital City Authority in order to support them to implement the recommended tasks.
