Korea Institute for Development Strategy(KDS) held the First invitation Training Program(ITP) for KOICA-UNFPA ‘Project for Building a Support Model to Respond and Prevent Violence against Women and Girls in Vietnam’ (2019-2020) from July 28th to August 4th.

 

KDS is the consortium partner for the above-mentioned Project with TACTEEN Naeil as the Project Management Consultancy(PMC) since March, 2019. Ms. Hyunsook LEE, the representative of TACTEEN Naeil as the Project Manager(PM) is in charge of consulting by dispatching Korean experts and herself to Vietnam where KDS is in charge of conducting three ITPs and advising on local dissemination and training programs.

 

This ITP had 20 participants from the Government of Vietnam, headed by Mr. Luong, the deputy director general of the Gender Equality Department in the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs(MOLISA), As this project is KOICA’s Multi-bi Project, Ms. Quynh, the Program Specialist on Gender and Human Rights of UNFPA Vietnam has also joined the Program with the Vietnamese Delegation.

 

This Program was aimed to share Korea’s experience necessary for the Project, focusing on coordination mechanism in a government and strengthening the awareness of gender equality and gender-based violence(GBV) by providing lectures, study visits and workshops to the participants. We are expecting to share and disseminate the main contents and the outputs of this Program to more people at Quang Nihn Province, Vietnam on August 29th
