Korea Institute for Development Strategy(KDS) visited Fergana as a part of ‘The Project for Establishment of Vocational Training Center in Fergana Region in Uzbekistan' from the end of June to the mid of August. Fergana Vocational Training Center(VTC) is the fourth VTC in Uzbekistan funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency(KOICA) and received much attention with the visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. On the 1st of June, the vice-minister of the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the Korean ambassador to Uzbekistan, and the governor of Fergana participated in the opening ceremony of Fergana VTC.
KDS implemented local training for 83 trainers at the Colleges and VTCs under the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the baseline survey for performance management during this dispatch. KDS team discussed the validity of indicators with local stakeholders and developed a monitoring framework to guarantee the outputs and outcomes of the Project.
As this Project is scheduled to be finished by the first half of 2023, KDS will conduct the endline survey in early 2023 to monitor the progress and build a solid foundation for Fergana VTC to manage its performance even after the Project ends.
