Ÿ Title: Field Research for 2012 KSP with Pakistan

KDS has conducted a field research from 27th August to 1st September, 2012, as a part of the research and consultation activities for the 2012 KSP with Pakistan.
The group headed by Mr. Lee, Kyong Koo(Executive Director, KDS) has visited Economic Affairs Division and related partner institutions such as Planning Commission, Ministry of Industries, Higher Education Commission, National Productivity Organization, and etc. in order to set the specific objectives & scope of the consultation, and to discuss the comprehensive schedule of this year's KSP.
During the field research the two parties have reached an agreement that they are going to work together on the following items under the main theme of “Policy Consultation on Four Targeted Subjects for Enhancing Pakistani Competitiveness”:
1. Strengthening Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation in Ministry of Industries;
2. Creating Space for Urban Micro Enterprises;
3. Improving Energy Efficiency in Textile Sector;
4. Enhancing the Quality and Access of Higher Education.
Interim workshop & practical training for Pakistani policy makers will be held in Seoul for a week in December 2012, and a high-level policy dialogue with Pakistan government’s relevant top decision-makers will be held in Pakistan in January 2013. After the dialogue, a dissemination seminar will be held to share the research outcome and provide policy recommendations with a larger audience.
