Entrusted by the Korea Development Institute (KDI), the Korea Institute for Development Strategy (KDS) implemented the Final Reporting Workshop and the Senior Policy Dialogue in Turkey as the final stage of the official activities for the 2013 KSP with the Republic of Turkey. The group of Korean experts led by Mr. Taeho Bark (former head of the office for Trade in Ministry of Trade and Foreign Affairs) visited Istanbul and Ankara from February 17
th to 22nd, 2014 to hold the Final Reporting Workshop and Policy Dialogue with high-level officials of counterparts ministry/organization.

The aims of the Final Reporting Workshop are to disseminate the project output to local stakeholder from governmental, academic, media and other relevant sectors and to reflect the result of 2013 KSP toward practical policies and make an evaluation about the project. As for the Senior Policy Dialogue, it aims to present the research and consultation results of the 2013 KSP to top policy makers of Turkey and to promote political reflection of the project output and capacity building of top policy-makers.

On February 19th, the Final Reporting Workshop with the title, “Policy Recommendations for Utilization of Turkey-Korea FTA”was held in Turkish Exporters’Assembly (TIM) located in Istanbul of Turkey. On the following day, the Senior Policy Dialogue presided by deputy undersecretary of Ministry of Economy, Mr. Husnu Dilemre was held, and the courtesy visit to the newly appointed minister was followed in the Ministry of Economy in Ankara. At the same day, the Final Reporting Workshop with the title, “Promotion of Green Growth for SMEs in Turkey” was held and then the Policy Dialogue presided by the vice president of KOSGEB, Mr. Salih Tuna Sahin was carried out.

The MOE and KOSGEB promised to be cooperative until the end of this project, and both showed their willingness to participate in the 2014 KSP project. The final report will be published in June or July of 2014.
