Dr. Seung-hun CHUN, the president of KDS gave a presentation on the development experiences of Korea to the Advisory committee of Prime Minister’s Office and National Assembly respectively on March 18th and 19th, 2014 upon their requests.

 

Dr. CHUN shared the main ideas for the DRC’s development by citing the development experiences of Korea with 30 advisors of the Prime Minister’s Office of the DRC. The advisory group showed a deep interest in the driving force which led such a rapid development of Korea. Dr. CHUN put an emphasis on the government and people’s willingness and efforts to strengthen human resources.

 

In addition, on March 19th, 2014, more than 40 congressmen of the Finance Committee of the DRC’s National Assembly gathered in order to listen to Dr. CHUN’s presentation on the Korean development experience. They were deeply impressed by the fact that Korea had achieved the development to become a developed country after having gone through even inferior situation in the 1960s to that of the DRC. They strongly expressed their intention of looking forward to having more chances to learn the Korean development experience.

 

So far, the KDS has established the amicable relationship with the DRC by conducting a variety of the projects. KDS carried out the Knowledge Sharing Program (KSP) in 2010 and 2013 with support of the government of the DRC, the Ministry of Strategy and Finance (MOSF) of Korea and Korea Development Institute (KDI). In 2011, under the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and in collaboration with the government of the DRC, KDS implemented a project to establish a strategic development plan for the DRC which was well received by the Office of the President on its completion. Based on such a deep trust between the DRC and KDS, the DRC has requested KDS to continue its efforts to support the development of the DRC.

 

KDS will keep its efforts to support the DRC’s development with its expertise of development consulting.
