Korea Institute for Development Strategy (KDS), in partnership with Korea National University of Education (KNEU) and Korea Digital Education Frontiers Association (KEFA), held the opening ceremony of an ICT lab on February 14th at the Regional Teacher Training Center (RTTC) in Kampong Cham Province, as part of the 'ICT Capacity Building of Lower Secondary Education in Cambodia' project.

 

This project is a Country Programs and Projects of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), aiming to enhance the ICT capabilities of teachers and improve students' ICT skills. Through these activities, the project seeks to enhance the core competencies of the youth for the 21st century by improving the quality of ICT education.

 

This ceremony was organized to announce the full utilization of 48 ICT labs that have been equipped in 4 RTTCs and 20 ICT eading schools across four provinces including Kampong Cham in Cambodia.

 

On the same day, 9 types of ICT textbooks for RTTC’s teacher educators were also displayed. These textbooks, developed by teacher educators working at the RTTC, are the first of their kind produced independently by Cambodia and have been introduced as exemplary textbooks on the website of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport in Cambodia

 

Mun-Jung Choi, the director of the KOICA Cambodia Office, stated, "In the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, ICT skills, which are core competencies of the 21st century, will enable them to transcend the limitations of traditional education.“
