Korea Institute for Development Strategy(KDS) has implemented the 2010 KSP with Kazakhstan. The KSP is supported by the Ministry of Strategy and Finance(MOSF) of the Republic of Korea and the Korea Development Institute(KDI). KDS has conducted the 2010 KSP with the subject of 'SME-centered Enterprise Development Strategy for Sustained Economic Development of Kazakhstan,' with the government of Kazakhstan under the lead of Dr.Seung-Hun Chun, President of KDS as the Project Manager(PM). Korean delegation, headed by Hon. Young-Ju Kim, Korea’s former Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy, visited Kazakhstan from 20 to 26 January, 2011. The purpose of the visit was to have the Final Reporting Session, which was organized by KDS, Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MEDT) and Economic Research Institute (ERI). This opportunity offered a platform for the Korean consulting team to present their findings and policy recommendations for enterprise development in Kazakhstan, and to introduce Korea’s experience of economic development to various stakeholders. More than 40 public officials and experts from government bodies, including Ministry of Education and Science, Ministry of Agriculture. participated in the event. On this event, officials from Korean Embassy attended the session and showed high appreciation for the policy recommendations from the Korean experts. On January 24, 2011, there was a senior-policy dialogue between the Vice-minister of MEDT, Hon. Marat Kussainov and the head of the Korean Delegation, Hon. Young-Ju Kim. The dialogue was an opportunity to suggest measures to foster Kazakhstan’s SMEs, and to provide a comprehensive roadmap based on the results of the KSP.
