The Korea Institute for Development Strategy (KDS) resumed the implementing of the KOICA Project for Capacity Building of the Kurdistan Institute of Public Administration (KIPA), KRG Iraq by dispatching seven experts involved in the Project to Arbil, KRG in May, 2015.

 

The main purpose of this visit was to hold a Workshop for presenting the Draft of KIPA’s Master Plan and reviewing the overall framework of the Project including Invitational Programs in Korea for HRD Policy Makers, KIPA HRD Officials and Lecturers.

 

With regard to the Project, H.E. Dr. Ali Sindi (Minister of the Ministry of Planning, KRG) addressed the Workshop and stated that “I hope that the Project will serve as significant momentum towards Capacity Building of KIPA and I will continue to support the Project.”

 

Prof. Park Kyung-bae, the Project Manager (PM) as well as Vice President of KDS, emphasized the successful completion of the Project within the closing date of the Project.

 

Through the Project under the auspices of KOICA, the KRG aims at emulating Korea’s national development experience through successful training of highly dedicated and competent government officials who has served as the backbone of the national development over the past 66 years or so since the establishment of Korean government in 1948.

 

The Master Plan team and Instruction System (Curriculum) Development team are to visit to Arbil this upcoming July or August so as to submit the final report of Master Plan and work on curriculum development for KIPA training programs while holding an additional discussion on Invitational Programs for HRD Policy Makers, KIPA HRD Officials and Lecturers.

Serving as the Project Management Consultancy (PMC), the Korea Institute for Development Strategy (KDS) in consortium with the Konkuk University are carrying out the 3-year KOICA Project, ‘The Project for Capacity Building of the Kurdistan Institute of Public Administration (KIPA)’ during a period of Dec. 2013 through to Dec. 2016.
