The Korea Institute for Development Strategy (KDS), implementing agency of 2015/16 Knowledge Sharing Program (KSP) with the Kyrgyz Republic, made an official visit to Bishkek during a period of Nov. 8th – 14th, 2015 on the High-level Demand Survey and Pilot Study under the joint supervision of the Ministry of Strategy and Finance (MOSF) and Korea Development Institute (KDI).


In response to the request made by Ministry of Economy (MOE) of the Kyrgyz Republic, the 2015/16 KSP is focused on two main topics: i) Reinforcement of policy effectiveness in human resource management; ii) Implementation of monitoring & evaluation (M&E) of foreign aid projects.


The delegation was led by Dr. Kim Cae-one, Senior Advisor of the 2015/16 KSP and Professor Emeritus of Seoul National University. The delegation consisted of six experts concerned with the topics.


They had a series of meetings with high-level officials of the MOE of the Kyrgyz Republic in an effort to 1) identify local demand; 2) hold in-depth discussion on research topics; 3) conduct a basic survey while establishing a network with stakeholders. The delegation also visited other agencies and institutions concerned with an aim of gathering detailed information on the topics.


This visit led to building a close working relationship with key officials including Mr. Orozbekov Alymbek,  Head of Investment and PPP Department of the MOE of the Kyrgyz Republic.


The 2015/16 KSP with the Kyrgyz Republic is scheduled to be conducted from October 2015 through April 2016. The second visit is slated for the first quarter of 2016 with regard to local reporting workshop and additional pilot study.
