Dr.Seung-Hun CHUN, the Chairman of the Korea Institute for Development Strategy (KDS), was appointed as the first President of the Consulting Association for International Development (CAIND) on March 24, 2023.

 

 

After graduating from Seoul National University, Chairman Chun earned a Master's and Doctoral degree in Economics from the University of Michigan, and after passing the 13th Public Administration Examination, he served as Director of the Economic Planning Board, Director of the Korea International Cooperation Agency, and Vice President of the Korea Institute of Public Administration. He also founded the Korea Institute for Development Strategy, an institution specializing in development cooperation, in 2002, despite the unfavorable conditions in the private development consulting industry, and currently serves as the Chairman of the Board at KDS.

 

 

In his inauguration speech, Chairman Chun presented the Association's vision of “Securing a Global Top 10 International Development Cooperation status,” and to this end, Fostering 100 key companies in development consulting, Nurturing 3,000 professional development consultants, and Ranking in the top 10 in the overseas procurement market. He expressed his ambition to work hard to achieve his role.

 

 

On this day, about 30 leaders representing the ODA industry attended the inaugural general meeting. Personnel from the ODA-related government ministries, KOICA and EDCF, professional consulting firms, as well as engineers, accounting firms, IT company employees, and individual consultants participated, helping the Association get off to a strong start.

 

 

In the future, the Association will pursue various projects to achieve its founding goals of vitalizing the international development consulting industry, exploring the blue ocean of job creation in the international aid market, and contributing to the international community and national economy by maximizing 'development effectiveness'.
