Title [1ST dispatch- Performance Management Workshop] Accelerating Clean Energy Access to Reduce Inequality (ACCESS)
Date 2022-08-12

A group of four sector experts (Hongmin Chun, Deogho Lee, Ya Ya Kim, Dayoung Seo) from Korea Institute for Development Strategy (KDS) led by the Project Manager, Hongmin Chun, visited Jakarta, Indonesia with a main purpose of Performance management workshop from July 10 to 15 and successfully completed the workshop with its counterpart, UNDP Indonesia/Timor-Leste ACCESS team.

The ACCESS (The Accelerating Clean Energy Access to Reduce Inequality) project aims to support the poor and most vulnerable communities to have equitable and sustainable access to essential services for improving their livelihoods and implemented in 2020-2023 in 23 villages in four provinces in Indonesia (East Nusa Tenggara, West Sulawesi, South-East Sulawesi, and Central Kalimantan provinces) and 25 villages in three municipalities of Timor-Leste (Municipality of Dili (Atauro), Bobonaro and Manatuto). Particularly, the project is very meaningful in the sense that it is the first ‘multiyear triangle cooperation project’ among Korea, Indonesia and Timor-Leste funded by Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

KDS is responsible for performance management for the project since October 2021 and during the period of visiting (1st dispatch) it implemented ▲Revision of performance indicators ▲Discussion on the joint mid-term evaluation ▲Knowledge sharing session of solar station ▲Technical consultation on solar station/water pump etc. Furthermore, KDS had the first face-to-face meeting with Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) of Indonesia, KOICA and UDNP to discuss the project implementation plans which provided a basis for further discussions through establishing cooperative relationships between key stakeholders.

Starting from the 1st dispatch, KDS will conduct on-site monitoring in Timor-Leste this year, and keep supporting the project to achieve targets by the end of the project by identifying more details through the joint mid-term evaluation at the beginning of 2023.
