Elisabeth López, a small producer living in Cordillera, Paraguay, has got the opportunity to distribute the cultivated agricultural products through the Eco Agro Agricultural Farmers Market, which is included in the 'Saemaeul Undong Project of Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development in Paraguay' funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). Elizabeth has been farming horticultural crops such as carrots, bell peppers, tomatoes and strawberries for 17 years, which is a major source of income to educate her children.
After joining the ‘Caraguatay Poty Cooperative’ through the Saemaul Project, small farmers including Elizabeth have been able to receive useful support related to agriculture and product sales by using the seed fund and business plan, thereby providing an opportunity for commercialization . As a result, they are being sold directly to consumers at the Eco Agro store in San Lorenzo.
The beneficiaries of this project are 1,114 small farmers in Cordillera and Central.
