The Korea Institute for Development Strategy (KDS) and Tacteennaeil have jointly conducted a comprehensive roll-out training program for 60 counselors from 20 counseling centers under the Lao Women’s UnionThis initiative is part of the "Project on Prevention and Elimination of Violence against Women for Mainstreaming Gender into the National Development Agenda in Lao PDR (P-EVAW 2020-2024)," leveraging the "Guideline for the Provision of Feminist Counseling and Support to Victim/Survivors of Violence Against Women (VAW Guideline)," which was developed in February 2024.

In April, to ensure effective dissemination and to enhance the capacity of the counselors, 21 professional trainers were trained. These trainers facilitated the program for the 60 counselors across four regions, covering critical topics such as understanding violence against women, feminist counseling practices, case management, and specific strategies for supporting victims based on the type of violence encountered.

KDS and Tacteennaeil are committed to distributing these guidelines to all counselors in Laos, including those operating at the village level, within this year. To overcome accessibility challenges, online training will also be provided, aiming to further strengthen the support services available for victim/survivors of violence against women.
